Sr. Embedded Software Engineer

Senior Embedded Engineer - Greenbelt, MD | Hybrid: 3 days onsite ClientMind Recruiting is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer for a growing communications technology company. This role offers the opportunity to develop high-performance firmware for advanced microcontroller-based systems while providing technical leadership to the engineering team. What You’ll Do • Design and develop embedded firmware using C/C++ • Build low-level drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and communication interfaces • Develop for bare-metal and RTOS environments • Debug complex hardware and firmware issues using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers • Optimize performance, memory usage, power consumption, and system reliability • Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests • Collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers What You’ll Bring • 5+ years of embedded software development experience • Strong C/C++ programming skills • Proficiency with Git and embedded debugging tools • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience • U.S. citizenship Preferred Experience • Embedded Linux and custom Linux platforms • FPGA, SoC integration, or low-level hardware design • Python scripting for automation and testing • Experience with ARM Cortex-M, STM32, i.MX, or similar microcontrollers • Expertise in bare-metal and RTOS architectures • Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet
